Merchiston Castle School |
| The founding of Merchiston Preparatory School, in Pietermaritzburg was the outcome of the vision of two Victorian women, Miss Agnes Rowe and Miss Elizabeth Allan in 1892. Permission was obtained from Merchiston Castle School, in Scotland, by the Principal, Dr John Rogerson, for our school to adopt their name and motto. Ready Ay Ready was modified to Ready Aye Ready to suit the local language. The two schools have maintained their close link over the years with regular visits and correspondence. | ||
